I've never really been a big fan of the colour purple - I'm more of a pink girl really, but there's no denying that it's massive for this season. And I have to admit, the more I see it, the more I'm being drawn in.

You see I've always thought it didn't really suit me, but I have to admit that honestly I had never even tried it on before. In an effort to be different I tried a gorgeous soft-purple scarf on and I was really amazed that it was actually quite flattering.

I even tried a full-length purple velvet evening gown on and although it was far
too 'posh' for me, I really did love the colour. So it was absolutely serendipity when I went to buy my regular jeans in my local department store and there they were in purple! Purple Jeans!

Now I knew that wouldn't have my size but just as I was about to turn away a pair from the back of the rail shouted 'I'm here, I'm here, I'm your size, buy me!' (Well, that's what I told my other half). So I did.

But, absolutely true, no word of a lie, a couple of rails in front was a purple t-shirt, in my size all alone on a rail of coats. Obviously abandoned by someone else their loss was my gain. I began to think the elves must have been at work on my behalf but when I reached the till I was absolutely flabbergasted (it takes a lot to flabber my gast believe me!). There, all displayed beautifully on the end of the counter was a collection of bath products in gorgeous purple, absolute truth! And what was written as the next item on my shopping list - shower gel!

So into the basket it went and if I didn't believe in fairies before, I definitely do now!

Looking for the latest nail colour? Well, I have it on good authority from a friend high up in the world of nails that anyone who's anyone will be wearing green this autumn.

Yes, I know, it sounds a little bizarre to me too but honestly that is her top tip. Apparently with so much green around in fashion at the moment customers are demanding matching nail colours.

I had a little look and although I can't claim to be trendy enough to wear them I did rather like the sort of olive/bronzy tones, and I did actually see a TV presenter wearing it this week so perhaps she's right.

Anyway, if I buy one and I hate it, I can always give it to my niece for Halloween!
